2022 BMW X3 Review

When you want power and luxury combined, the 2022 BMW X3 is right for you. Combining an impressive engine with innovative technology makes this the one to take for a cruise around Rockland, Hingham, and Marshfield, Massachusetts. At South Shore BMW, we’ve gone ahead and written up a thorough 2022 BMW X3 review so that you know what to expect when it comes time to sign on the dotted line.

2022 BMW X3: Power & Performance

The base model comes equipped with a 2.0L BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder, 16-valve engine that is paired with an 8-speed Sport Automatic transmission with Sport and Manual shift modes, including steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. This engine also combines a twin-scroll turbocharger with variable valve control (Double-VANOS and Valvetronic) and high-precision direct injection. Its power output reaches up to 248 horsepower.

In addition to Driving Dynamics Control with ECO PRO, COMFORT, and SPORT modes, there is exceptional technology in place to maintain a smooth and safe driving experience. These features are: Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Brake Fade Compensation, Start-off Assistant, Brake Drying, and Brake Stand-by features, with Dynamic Traction Control (DTC). These features will ensure you remain safe on the road while giving you an elegant degree of control over how your vehicle moves.

2022 BMW X3: Infotainment

Behind the wheel of the X3 is going to put you at the center of cutting-edge infotainment features. The X3 comes naturally with both USB and Bluetooth® plus smartphone integration, combined with the compatibility of both Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, you’ll have an incredibly easy time going from using your phone in your hands to hopping in the X3 and interfacing through the Bluetooth® wireless.

Some BMW-only features include BMW TeleServices and BMW ConnectedDrive® Services. However, the Connected Package Professional is something you’ll want to consider adding to your X3. It includes features like Real-Time Traffic Information and On-Street Parking Information, Hazard Preview, BMW Remote Services, and an Intelligent Personal Assistant voice control, which allows for natural speech input for different functions, with navigation being a prime example.

2022 BMW X3: Safety

Keeping you safe on the road is no mean feat for the X3, as we discussed earlier, there is already a suite of brake-focused features that work in your favor. Here we’ll take a broader look at what’s on offer. Take the Active Protection System, for example. This system detects imminent accidents and will tighten seat belts, close the windows and moonroof, and post-crash braking. This system also includes important Fatigue and Focus Alert features.

There is also the driver’s and passenger’s front airbag supplemental restraint system (SRS) with advanced technology: dual-threshold, dual-stage deployment, and front-passenger-seat sensors designed to prevent unnecessary airbag deployment. This is a fantastic safety feature, especially if you find yourself driving in heavy traffic like your commute or taking your X3 down to the woods or beach to camp for a long weekend.
